 We definitely realize that those lids can be tough to open especially once you're already wet in the shower. Not to mention the fact that once you get the lid off, you have to fugure out where to put it and how to strategically manage to scrub while shielding your open jar from the shower stream. The flip-top lid solves both of those problems! They're easy to flip open with just a flick of the thumb and easy to close so you can keep the water out of the jar while you're scrubbing (Getting water in your jar is NOT a good idea - it will melt the sugar and leave you with liquid non-scrub).
